10th of November- World Science Day

The World Science Day is celebrated annually on November 10. It was founded in 2001 under the auspices of UNESCO. Festive events are aimed at popularizing science as a tool for peace and harmony on Earth.

Man owes most of our achievements to the genetic ability to observe, analyse, and understand the phenomena occurring around us in space and time. By systematizing the acquired knowledge, humanity noticed that this knowledge can not only be preserved, passed on from generation to generation, but also supplemented, developed and unified. This is how science appeared.

No one knows exactly when this happened or exactly which science first appeared in the world, but it is known for sure that until now humanity has not managed to exhaust the entire multifaceted directions and potential of human knowledge, for which we boldly define one or another branch of scientific direction. It's unbelievable, but it's true.

At first, in order to feed the wolf and leave the sheep alone, science and society began to cooperate closely, from which both began to benefit. In the final result, if it can be at all, science and society have become a single whole, which is absolutely harmonious for the nature of man himself. Science plus society has always equalled progress. Thus, at one of the World Scientific Conferences held in Budapest in 1999, the idea of the need for even closer interaction between the scientific and social environment was expressed. The work on increasing the public's awareness of the practical benefits of science for all generations requires efforts primarily from the scientific layer of our society, but without the support of the main part of society, it can be completely levelled. In this regard, at the general conference of the international organization UNESCO, held in 2001, a decision was made to officially establish the "World Science Day for Peace and Development", which is now celebrated annually on November 10.

And now, on World Science Day, a number of various events are held, aimed both at working with scientific and educational teams, and at close interaction with government organizations. The goal of these efforts is the wide spread of knowledge about the sciences in the field of development and establishing peace on earth - for all sections of society, holding a kind of open-door day. This is not only a factor in the popularisation of certain scientific directions and technologies, but also in many ways saves society from destructive misunderstandings, strengthening trust and contributing to the positive progress of our entire society.

Coopers Coborn wishes all of you only bright feelings towards science and the scientific environment! We all remember that knowledge is light, and to let ignorance remain in the past! May you learn something new on this day. Let it be small, but the truth, as you know, will free you from something completely unnecessary, which interferes not only with you but also with the people around you. We also want to thank and praise our science students and teachers. Happy Science Day to you!

25th of November- International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

It was announced by the UN General Assembly back in 1999. Since then, the governments of many countries around the world and various organizations have paid attention to this problem of providing assistance against such a phenomenon as violence.

Women all over the world experience physical, psychological, economic, and sexual violence. Most often, the struggle with this is a circular motion. After conditional "reconciliation" with the abuser, in most cases he returns to violence again. In addition, the scale can be more dangerous. And not every woman is able to break this circle.

Therefore, it is important for everyone to realize that there is no need to be silent about the problem! Victims should seek help from the police and other competent authorities. The wrongdoer must face justice.

A white ribbon became the symbol against all forms of violence against women. It symbolizes the intention to never perpetrate, facilitate or remain indifferent to violence against women and to eradicate this shameful and dangerous phenomenon.
